Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly Holds 2026 Town Hall Meeting to Enhance Transparency

The Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly has held its first Town Hall Meeting of the year at Ahenkro, providing a platform for the local government to account for its stewardship and present its 2026 operational plan.

The meeting was attended by key district officials, including,Hon. Emmanuel Jackson Agumah, District Chief Executive (DCE)

Hon. Collins Danso, Presiding Member, District Coordinating Director, Heads of Departments and various local stakeholders.

 

In a bid to enhance public safety, officials from the Ghana Fire Service also participated, educating the community on the common causes of fire outbreaks and essential prevention techniques.

In his welcome address, Hon. Emmanuel Jackson Agumah underscored the necessity of periodic reporting within a participatory democracy. He emphasized that transparency and accountability are the pillars of good governance.

The DCE reported a successful previous year, noting that the Assembly achieved over 90% of its planned activities, with the following Key milestones included, Extensive road reshaping and maintenance, Rehabilitation of school buildings and the provision of desks for public schools,Distribution of dustbins and the organization of regular community cleanup exercises.

“The inputs, suggestions, and development needs of our people are critical in formulating and implementing the Assembly’s agenda to improve living standards,” Hon. Agumah stated.

 

Aligning with the national agenda, the DCE assured the community that the Assembly would fulfill President John Dramani Mahama’s campaign promises by completing all abandoned projects inherited from the previous administration referred to by the President as “Legacy Projects.”

 

The DCE pledged to commission and operationalize all projects completed under his administration. He also addressed concerns raised by participants, ensuring that the Afigya Kwabre North District continues to unlock a wider range of opportunities for its residents.

The District Planning Officer, Mr.Amoateng Wilfred commended the DCE for his dedicated hard work, affirming that the administration’s primary focus remains massive development and the elevation of the residents’ quality of life.

 

Participants at the meeting expressed their satisfaction with the DCE’s leadership style. Many applauded his commitment to open communication and accountability, expressing optimism that under his guidance, the Afigya Kwabre North District will continue to rise.
