Ghanaians Assured of Higher Quality Data and Network Coverage by NCA

Want me to make it sound more formal for a press release, or more casual for social media?

National Communication Authority(NCA) has assured Ghanaians (subscribers) of improved data service and network coverage across the country.

Speaking at the 2026 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day(WTISD) at the NCA Towers in Accra, Director general of the NCA,Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko said because of the growing number of subscribers, people keep complaining about the challenges facing subscribers for calls and internet connectivity.

He therefore charged the service operators to close the coverage gap in urban and rural communities, adding that the service that is paid for must be the service received.

He hinted that his outfit will start publishing the performance data of the operators so that the public will see network by network their performance against their obligations, stating that an informed consumer is the operator’s strongest ally.

He further said ,the authority will monitor delivery against their timelines and will facilitate the regulatory inter-agency engagement to ensure every obstacle is removed.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Ghana Chamber for Telecommunications, Sylvia Owusu – Ankomah also added that, the main challenges for poor network connection is as results of fiber cutting by some road constructors and illegal Galamsey activities.

She however said, over the years they used to record 400 cases of fiber cut in a year but as we are speaking is approximately 8000 fiber cuts which is a very expensive thing to repair or fixing to restore quality network connectivity across the country.

She however commended NCA for helping in the advocacy campaign to educate many Ghanaians to desist from the rampant fiber cutting.

She finally appealed to Ghanaians to support the call to end the fiber cuts to enhance quality network connectivity and also extend it to the other part of the country.
