Sports Minister to Launch 2026 UG Corporate Football League on February 3

The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, is set to officially launch the 2026 University of Ghana Corporate Football League (UGCFL) on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium VIP Lounge.

The launch marks the formal commencement of activities for another highly anticipated edition of the corporate football competition, which has grown into one of the country’s respected sporting platforms for corporate institutions.

At the event, the Sports Minister is expected to address participants and stakeholders on the impact of the league and its contribution to strengthening teamwork, wellness, and networking among corporate organizations, while promoting sports development in Ghana.

The press launch will bring together representatives of participating corporate institutions, specially invited guests, and members of the media, where organizers will officially unveil plans and expectations for the 2026 season. The competition is scheduled to run from February to June 2026.

Following a thrilling 2025 season filled with passion, intensity, and memorable moments, organizers say the 2026 edition promises to be stronger, more competitive, and professionally organized.

The league, organized by the University of Ghana Sports Directorate in partnership with RITE Sports Services, has evolved into a respected platform that bridges the gap between sport and the corporate community within an elite university environment, while delivering exciting football entertainment.

Matches for the 2026 season will be played every Friday evening from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, ensuring consistent football action for fans and stakeholders.

The season officially kicks off on Friday, February 13, 2026, ushering in another exciting chapter of corporate football at the University of Ghana.
