Afigya Kwabre South DCE Urges Parents and Teachers to Prioritize Ghanaian Culture Amid Technological Advancements

KODIE: The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Madam Pearl Patricia Ankrah, has cautioned parents to take full responsibility for raising their children by inculcating Ghanaian traditions and culture into them for their own benefit.

According to her, many children in today’s technological era are not being properly guided in appreciating Ghanaian heritage, particularly local food, indigenous languages, and societal values.

She emphasized that promoting and teaching Ghanaian culture must be a hallmark of both home and school environments.

Madam Patricia Ankrah made these remarks during the Ghana Education Service (GES) Afigya Kwabre South Cultural Festival (2026 Inter-Circuit Program). The event brought together various basic schools across the district to showcase diverse cultural practices, including music and dance, drama, and poetry recitations.

The DCE also encouraged teachers to continuously employ effective teaching methodologies while integrating cultural heritage and practices into their lessons.

Addressing the students, Madam Ankrah advised them to study hard to achieve their future goals. She also took the opportunity to highlight ongoing school infrastructure projects in the district. Madam Ankrah concluded by reaffirming her administration’s commitment to education, noting that several school infrastructure projects are being fast-tracked for completion and commissioning in the shortest possible time.
