Amansie Central DCE Tours BECE Centers; Reaffirms Scholarship Support for Top Performers

As the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) continues, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie Central, Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, toured several examination centers across the district to motivate and encourage candidates.

The nationwide exercise began on Monday, May 4, with English Language and Religious and Moral Education (RME). On Tuesday, candidates took the Social Studies and Creative Arts exams. The examination is scheduled to conclude on Friday, May 8.

The DCE and his entourage, including the District Coordinating Director, visited three of the district’s six designated areas, including Jacobu SHS A, B&C, Tweapease, SHS A&B and Hia DA Primary &JHS

 

Addressing the students, Hon. Obeng Agyemang urged them to remain focused and confident. He advised them to rely strictly on what they had been taught and to avoid any form of examination malpractice, emphasizing that “true success is born of hard work and discipline.”

“My prayer is that you will write well and pass your papers. This is a vital milestone in your education, and I am here to offer my support and prayers throughout this period. Trust in your preparation, and you will make the Amansie Central District proud,” he stated.

Regarding the improvement of educational standards, Hon. Obeng Agyemang assured students of his office’s commitment to providing quality education for all. He also pledged to renovate abandoned school infrastructure to ensure education in the district remains accessible.

Furthermore, he committed to continued support through the provision of payment of school fees and the offering of scholarships.

 

To further boost morale, the DCE pledged to provide sponsorship for brilliant but needy students. He also emphasized that Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) would receive equal support, whether through formal education, vocational training, or apprenticeships.

A total of 1781 candidates are participating in this year’s examination across the district’s six centers. The cohort consists of 884 male candidates and 897 female candidates including persons with disabilities.
