Speaking in an interview, Mr. Agyiri expressed his passion for agriculture and his desire to change perceptions about farming among the youth. He compared his initiative to innovations in the Western world, where inventors are hailed as legends, and said he hopes to be remembered as a legend in Ghana for pioneering agricultural transformation in schools. “This is new to our schools and to Ghana as a whole, and I’m proud to set the pace,” he said.
So far, three schools have benefited from his farming initiative, and several others have extended invitations to him. While his previous projects-such as palm and vegetable farming-received partial support from the Member of Parliament for Lower Denkyira, Hon. Lawrence Kwabena Agyinsam, the current 10-acre maize project is entirely self-funded.
Mr. Agyiri called on corporate bodies, government agencies, and stakeholders to support agricultural projects in schools, emphasizing that farming holds the key to Ghana’s development. “Through agriculture, Ghana can go far. This is not just a donation-it’s an investment in the future of the nation,” he concluded.
