Kwadaso MP Slams National Day of Prayer Scheduling, questions government’s job creation record.
Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, Professor Kingsley Nyarko has sparked controversy by questioning President John Dramani Mahama’s decision to declare July 1st a National Day of Prayer. According to Nyarko, this move will negatively impact the country’s productivity.
The MP suggests that the National Day of Prayer could have been observed on the same day as the Founder’s Day holiday, instead of dedicating an entire working day to prayer. Nyarko believes that having two separate days off would be unnecessary and counterproductive to the country’s economic growth.
Hon Nyarko’s concerns are centered around the potential impact on productivity. He argues that combining the prayer day with the holiday would be a more practical approach, allowing Ghanaians to observe their spiritual duties without sacrificing a valuable working day.
