Salaga-South Bursary Beneficiary Emerges Best Female Physician Assistant Student with 4.67 CGPA
A young woman from Salaga-South, Miss Fatimat Ahmed, has become a shining example of resilience, hard work, and academic excellence after emerging as the Best Overall Female Student in Physician Assistant Studies, graduating with an impressive CGPA of 4.67.
Her remarkable journey began in 2021 when the Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, launched her tertiary education bursary. Fatimat was among the first beneficiaries. At the disbursement ceremony held at the East Gonja Municipal Assembly Hall, the MP’s office also pledged to assist brilliant but needy students to secure GETFUND scholarships to ease financial challenges.
From that day, Fatimat consistently demonstrated uncommon determination. She frequently followed up on scholarship opportunities an effort that reflected her ambition rather than persistence for its own sake. According to the MP’s aide, who coordinated the scholarship processes, Fatimat showed great discipline and focus in pursuing her goal.
When the GETFUND scholarship portal opened, she was guided through the application process and duly submitted her documents for facilitation. In 2022, by the grace of Allah, Fatimat was among five Salaga-South students whose GETFUND sponsorship was successfully facilitated by the MP. She and her colleague, Bimata both students of the University for Development Studies pursuing Physician Assistant Studies and Medicine respectively were celebrated as a source of pride, especially in a constituency where few young women venture into science-related fields.
Today, the fruits of Fatimat’s perseverance are evident. Not only has she completed her studies, but she has excelled at the very top of her class, earning recognition as the best female graduate in her programme.
Her achievement has been described as deeply inspiring for the many young women in Salaga-South who aspire to pursue higher education, particularly in the sciences. The MP’s office reaffirmed its commitment to supporting more determined young people in building meaningful careers.
Congratulations continue to pour in for Fatimat, whose story stands as a testament to what dedication, support, and faith can achieve.
Once again, congratulations to Fatimat Ahmed for making Salaga-South and her family proud.
