GES Appoints Interim Headmaster, Plans Monday Reopening of Obuasi SHTS

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced plans to reopen Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) on Monday as it takes steps to restore teaching and learning following the disruption at the school.

The Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, disclosed this during an interview with Adom News, explaining that the Service is working with the school’s interim management to ensure an orderly return to academic activities.

Prof. Davis said arrangements were underway to resolve the situation and enable the school to resume its normal operations.

He also confirmed that an interim replacement had been appointed for the headmaster who was interdicted, while investigations into the matter remain ongoing.

According to him, the appointment is intended to ensure that the school continues to be managed effectively during the investigation period.

The proposed reopening is expected to allow students and teachers to return to their academic duties as the GES continues efforts to address the issues that led to the disruption.

Although the Service has not provided additional information about the investigation, the appointment of an interim headmaster is expected to ensure continuity in the school’s administration.

GES is expected to maintain its engagement with the interim management to facilitate a smooth reopening and the restoration of teaching and learning at Obuasi SHTS.
