In a speech by his Excellency the Vice President, he says when the NPP government introduced free SHS some people said it was not possible, and others too said it was a 419 promise. ” But they believe with hardwork and determination you can succeed everything and now you can terrified it that free SHS policy is possible. If you cross check, at first, we were having 800,000 SHS students and just introducing free SHS policy in 6years down the line we have added 600,000 students and indeed the free senior high school is transforming and improving education in a positive way” Vice President Authored.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumiah continue that it is committment of this government to do more for the youth of this country, and it is in line with this committment that the government will continue  to absorb the WAEC and BECE examination registration fees for all the candidates. ” When we were introducing free SHS policy there was a concern among many parents and stakeholders whether they are going to dilute the quality of education, whether the performance of the students will be declined because generally what is expected is that, when you expand access, you can reduce its performance. But the introduction of Free Senior High School defied gravity, and we are seeing improvement of the performance of our students and not a decline” Dr. Bawumiah explained.

Again when you look at the aggregate passes in the core WAEC subjects in 2016, it was 41% and at the end of 2022, the aggregate is 64% and free SHS is helping us a lot.

In an interview with the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Peace Owusu Bediako, she says 80years in the life of a school is not an easy task, but yet still they are doing all it takes to help lift the school to the highest standard.

And I thanks each and everyone who represent for making this anniversary a remarkable one. I and my staff too do appreciate a lot about the gadget some of our Alumni brought to prepare the Effisco students to represent us during the National Science and Maths Quiz for them to compete with other schools well.
