Asiedu Nketiah Urges Sustainable Mining Practices During NDC “Thank You Tour” in Ashanti Region

As part of a nationwide “Thank You Tour,” the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, visited the Manso Nkwanta, Amansie Central, and Bekwai constituencies.Accompanied by party executives, the Chairman expressed deep appreciation to supporters for their overwhelming mandate during the 2024 elections.

Addressing supporters, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah explained that the tour was a gesture of gratitude for the massive votes cast in favor of the NDC. On the sensitive issue of small-scale mining, he emphasized the need for a balanced approach to economic survival and environmental protection.

 

“To enable the youth to survive, they must be allowed to mine in a manner that ensures our water bodies are not destroyed,” Nketiah stated, advocating for regulated and sustainable mining practices.”He Lamented.

 

In the Odotobri Constituency, the National Chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to addressing local development challenges. He assured residents that under the NDC government, all stalled and ongoing projects would be prioritized and completed to improve the general living conditions of the people.

He further urged constituents to be discerning with their votes, cautioning against supporting political parties that fail to deliver on their promises once in power. He encouraged continued trust in the NDC, stressing that the party remains dedicated to the socio-economic well-being of all Ghanaians.

 

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah concluded by assuring the residents that concrete measures are being implemented to ensure that every promised initiative is fully realized, keeping the needs of the people at the forefront of the government’s agenda.

 

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie Central, Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang (popularly known as Pedro), outlined a series of interventions undertaken within a year under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.

These Key interventions include Construction of drainage systems in Jacobu to curb perennial flooding,Development of new classroom blocks to strengthen local schooling,Ongoing road reshaping to improve connectivity within the district, Installation of 23 boreholes to enhance access to clean water across various communities, Introduction of a youth apprenticeship program designed to equip young people with practical skills and promote self-reliance.
