Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah Leads Launch of IPPFoRB Academy in Accra to Champion Religious Freedom Across Africa

Story:
Member of Parliament for Salaga South and Chairperson of the AFRIPaR and IPPFoRB Caucus of Ghana’s Parliament, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has successfully hosted the launch of the International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief (IPPFoRB) Academy in Accra.

The high-profile event brought together Members of Parliament from across Africa, distinguished guests, and key representatives from IPPFoRB, Norway, and the United Nations.

The three-day academy was aimed at equipping African legislators with the necessary skills and knowledge to strengthen advocacy for religious freedom, beliefs, and human rights on the continent.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of the Accra Declaration, which reaffirmed the collective commitment of participating MPs to advancing freedom of religion and belief across their respective countries.

As Chairperson of both AFRIPaR and the IPPFoRB Caucus, Hon. Hajia Zuwera played a pivotal leadership role in organizing and steering the academy to success. Her contribution as a member of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee further deepened the discussions and outcomes of the program.

The launch of the IPPFoRB Academy underscores Hon. Hajia Zuwera’s commitment to promoting human rights, religious tolerance, and good governance. The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to enhance parliamentary capacity and oversight in addressing issues of religious discrimination and conflict across Africa.
