Hon.  MP Adelaide Yaa Ntim Donates GH¢60,000 to Support Constituents Affected by Adum Fire Disaster

In a heartfelt demonstration of solidarity and compassion, Hon. Adelaide Yaa Agyeiwaa Ntim, Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo, has donated GH¢60,000 to support constituents who were victims of the devastating Adum Blue Light fire incident in Kumasi.

The tragic fire, which ravaged parts of the bustling Adum commercial area in March 2025, destroyed several shops and reduced millions of cedis worth of goods to ashes. Among those affected were numerous traders from the Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo constituency who conduct business in the area.

Moved by the impact of the disaster, Hon. Ntim presented the cash donation as a relief effort to help her constituents recover and rebuild their businesses.

“Many of our people have lost their means of livelihood. As their representative, it is my duty to support them in any way I can,” she stated during the presentation ceremony. “This is not just about politics, but about humanity and responsibility.”

The donation was received on behalf of the affected traders by Mr. Kofi Badu, a native of Nsuta-Kwamang and one of the leaders among the victims. Expressing his gratitude, he said, “We are extremely grateful to Hon. Adelaide Ntim for remembering us during this difficult period. The fire took everything from us  our capital, goods, and sense of security. This intervention will help many of us get back on our feet.”

The brief but significant ceremony was held in Kumasi and attended by constituency executives, affected traders, and members of the media.

Hon. Ntim called on government agencies, organizations, and benevolent individuals to continue supporting fire victims as Kumasi embarks on the path to recovery. She emphasized that national development must always include compassionate responses to crises.

This donation adds to a growing list of public and private relief efforts for victims of the Adum Blue Light fire, as efforts continue to restore livelihoods and infrastructure in one of Kumasi’s busiest trading hubs.
