Nana Black Power Urges Ghanaians to Stop Comparing Mahama’s One-Year Performance to Akufo-Addo’s Eight-Year Term

Popular Chief Priest in Kumasi Boho in Afigya Kwabere Municipal, Nana Black Power has advised Ghanaians to stop comparing the one-year performance of President John Dramani Mahama to the eight-year tenure of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, describing the comparison as unfair and misleading.

According to Nana Black Power, it is unrealistic to expect major developmental achievements within a single year, noting that significant projects and reforms often take several years to plan, implement, and complete. He argued that some of the current positive outcomes under President Mahama could be the result of initiatives started by the previous government.

“You cannot use one year to judge or measure the full impact of a leader’s performance. Many of the good things we see today may have their foundation in the past administration,” he stated.

He further expressed concern over what he described as the growing culture of political propaganda in Ghana, warning that excessive partisan criticism is slowing national progress. Nana Black Power emphasized that when one political party is in power, the opposition often downplays or discredits their efforts instead of supporting national development.

“This propaganda culture is setting Ghana back. Instead of working together for progress, political parties spend time attacking each other’s achievements,” he added.

The outspoken figure also urged citizens to embrace gratitude and unity, stressing that the world is evolving rapidly and that national progress depends on mutual respect and appreciation. He encouraged Ghanaians to recognize and acknowledge positive contributions from leaders, regardless of political affiliation.

Nana Black Power made these remarks during an interaction with Loyal News Ghana, where he delivered his 2026 New Year message to the nation.
