Prof Musah Zaidu, widely known as “Prof,” a prominent communicator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Manso Nkwanta Constituency, has launched a solo campaign to promote the party’s vision and track record. His journey began in Pakyi No. 1 and extended through Trade, Santasi, and Kejetia Dubai, reaching various constituencies and towns in his effort to connect directly with voters.
In his campaign, Prof Zaidu has been engaging with traders, business owners, and residents, emphasizing the NDC’s developmental achievements under former President John Dramani Mahama. Speaking to traders at Kejetia Market, he highlighted the NDC’s successful completion of the modern Kejetia Market, which has transformed the economic landscape of Kumasi.
“Mahama built Kejetia Market in just three years, giving traders a better place to do business. But the NPP has spent eight years on the Central Market, and it’s still incomplete. This shows a clear difference in leadership,” he said. Prof Zaidu’s message resonated with many traders, some of whom admitted hearing about the NDC’s involvement in the project for the first time.
His campaign also touched on critical national issues. Prof criticized the NPP government for its handling of education, particularly the introduction of the double-track system for senior high schools. “Mahama has promised to abolish the double-track system and put in place better measures to ensure quality education for our children,” he stated.
Power outages were another key issue he addressed, using his personal experience at Kejetia to illustrate the problem. “As I stand here in Kejetia Dubai, I’ve experienced three continuous power cuts. This is not acceptable. Under Mahama’s leadership, we solved such challenges, and he will do it again,” he assured the crowd.
Prof Zaidu also took a firm stance on the controversial anti-LGBTQ+ bill, accusing the current government of failing to address the matter decisively. “Mahama has made it clear that within his first month in office, he will sign the bill into law. We need a leader who listens to the concerns of Ghanaians,” he said.
He passionately called on Ghanaians to reflect on the challenges facing the country, including stalled development projects, economic hardships, and frequent power outages, and make an informed choice in the upcoming 2024 elections. “The NPP has failed its citizens. It is time for us to choose a party that delivers results. Let’s vote massively for John Dramani Mahama and the NDC to bring Ghana back on track,” he urged.
Prof’s campaign has garnered attention for its grassroots approach, with many citizens applauding his dedication and passion. His one-man effort to traverse multiple constituencies and towns has become a rallying point for NDC supporters and a call to action for undecided voters.
As the 2024 elections draw near, Prof Musah Zaidu’s relentless advocacy underscores the NDC’s commitment to reaching every corner of Ghana with its message of hope, change, and progress.
