JULIUS DEBRAH URGES YOUTH TO EMBRACE THE “I WILL, I CAN’ SPIRIT
The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, has called on Ghanaian youth to cultivate what he described as the ‘I will, I can’ spirit, encouraging them to remain determined, prayerful, and confident in their potential to succeed.
Speaking at the ongoing National Youth Conference, held at the Pentecost Congregation Centre in Gomoa Fetteh, Mr. Debrah reminded participants that success is rooted in determination, perseverance, and faith in God.
“Anything you set your heart on is possible with the blessings of God,” he told the gathering, stressing the importance of resilience in the face of challenges.
Mr. Debrah emphasized the need for young people to factor in their relationship with God — what he termed the ‘God factor.’ According to him, whether one calls upon Allah or God, a sincere belief and reliance on a higher power provides direction and strength for life’s journey.
“Man was created in the image of God, and when He formed man, He breathed some of His spirit into him. That means you are not ordinary; you carry divine potential to create and to achieve,” he said.
Drawing from his personal story, the Chief of Staff recounted his humble beginnings in the village of Akorako, where, even up to sixth form, electricity was a luxury they had never experienced. His journey, he explained, is proof that humble beginnings should never define one’s future.
“The gentleman standing before you today had a very rough start. But with perseverance, belief in my potential, and faith in God, I have come this far,” he added.
The two-day National Youth Conference, themed ‘Igniting Potential and Inspiring Change,’ has attracted young people from across the country. The event seeks to inspire participants to harness their abilities, overcome limitations, and play an active role in national development.
