DVLA Launches SMS Notification Service to Alert Drivers on License Expiry
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has rolled out a new SMS notification service to keep drivers informed about their license statuses and prevent fines for expired documents. The initiative sends timely alerts to customers, helping them stay compliant with road regulations.
Under the system, drivers will receive an initial alert before their license replacement or renewal date expires. A second reminder follows if the license lapses, ensuring ongoing awareness of obligations. This proactive approach aims to reduce instances of driving with invalid licenses, which can lead to penalties and safety risks.
The service is designed to keep all DVLA customers up to date on upcoming license expiry dates, minimizing the risk of driving without a valid license. Officials say it enhances road safety and simplifies license management for motorists across the country.
