Bryan Acheampong’s Volta Victory Shocked Me Most – Mussa Dankwa

Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwa, has described Bryan Acheampong’s win in the Volta Region during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries as the most surprising outcome of the contest.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Mr. Dankwa said although the primaries were generally well conducted, Acheampong’s strong showing in the Volta Region stood out as wholly unexpected.

He noted that Kennedy Agyapong’s performance fell below even the lowest projections for his campaign, attributing the outcome partly to incidents that occurred in the weeks leading up to the election.

Mr. Dankwa also commended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for running a disciplined and focused campaign, while observing that Bryan Acheampong appealed to delegates by positioning himself as a fresh option. According to him, Acheampong carried a message similar to Agyapong’s but also benefited from his relatively younger age, which appeared to resonate more with delegates.
