Member of Parliament (MP), for Nsuta Kwamang Beposo Constituency in the Ashanti Region Hon. Adelaide Obaayaa Agyeiwaa Ntim, has moved in to address the hygiene and sanitation concerns of inhabitants in the constituency especially the people of Nsuta.

 

Over the years, inhabitants of Nsuta and other communities within the Sekyere Central use unhygienic facilities as places of convenience which is resulting to the breed of communicable diseases.

 

The stench from these unkempt facilities and the dangers to users have given way to open defecation in some instances.

These concerns prompted the MP for the area, Hon Adelaide Ntim to intervene by completing an abandoned 10-seater capacity ultramodern public toilets facilities each for Nsuta Palace and Nsuta Hemang respectfully within the constituency to address the issues of open defecation.

The facilities that was financially completed by the visionary MP, are accompanied by mechanized boreholes to ensure a constant flow of water for their operation.

 

The boreholes will also serve as a source of water supply to communities where these facilities are located.

Speaking to media after the commissioning, sedulous MP Hon Adelaide Ntim divulged that, she was approached by the assembly members for the area to enable complete their abandoned toilet facilities since the issues of excretions is on the rise due to lack of proper place for convenience.

 

“After my assessment on the project, i realized i can complete it swiftly without any hesitation, so i was moved to fixed electrical works, filled the area with chippings because of muddy situations when raining, painted the building, i provide water and other minor touches was done on the project to ensure it completion”, she explained.

Hon. Adelaide Ntim, MP said the intervention was part of his pledge to prioritize the health of her constituents and also provide them with basic amenities to make life comfortable for communities in the constituency.

She however pleaded with the residents to make the good used of it, “maintenance culture has to be prioritize to enable prolonged it lifespan for the benefits of everyone”.

The representative of Nsutaman hene Nana Kwabena Konadu at the commissioning ceremony also praised Hon Adelaide Ntim for such intervention, saying it will solve the unhygienic challenges affecting the inhibitors.

 

Nsutaman Chief Kontihene Abusuapanin Agya Manu together with other residents also spoke to media to expressed appreciation for the provision of toilet facilities since they were also finding it difficult to ease themselves whenever they want to visit nature call.
