Ghana Police Service Tops Corruption Perception Index Again – Global InfoAnalytics Poll

A new corruption perception poll by Global InfoAnalytics has ranked the Ghana Police Service as the institution most Ghanaians see as corrupt, with a score of 6.45 out of 10 in the June 2026 National Tracking Poll.

The Immigration Service followed in second place with 5.69, while Business Executives climbed to third, scoring 5.45-up from 5.31 in March 2026, reflecting a worsening trend compared to the December 2025 report.

Despite their high rankings, both the Police and Immigration Service recorded slight improvements from earlier polls, suggesting a slow positive shift in public perception. However, Business Executives were the only ones among the top three to see their score decline, pointing to growing concerns over private sector integrity.

On the other end, Ministers and Government Officials were seen as the least corrupt, scoring 4.54, followed by the Presidency at 4.84 and the Military at 4.90.

The Judiciary scored 5.41, the Ghana Revenue Authority 5.35, and MMDAs 5.24.

When asked if corruption in Ghana has improved, 54% said yes-down slightly from 56% in March. Meanwhile, 21% said it had worsened, up from 18% in March, indicating some loss of optimism in the fight against corruption.

Regarding which institution is best equipped to tackle corruption, 36% believed the Attorney General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor are equally capable. Among those who preferred one, 24% chose the AG, compared to 16% for the OSP. Thirteen percent said neither institution could effectively fight corruption.

The poll sampled 8,784 voters across all 16 regions between May 30 and June 12, 2026, with a 99% confidence level and a margin of error of ±2.5%.
