Fire Outbreak at Accra Central Police Barracks
Accra, Ghana – June 4, 2026 – The Accra Regional Police Command has issued an update regarding the fire incident at the Accra Central Police Barracks. Contrary to earlier reports, the command clarified that no arrests have been made at this stage of the ongoing investigations into the fire.
The update also confirmed that a fire officer sustained injuries during the operation and is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital. The officer is reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have stated that there have been no reported fatalities as a result of the fire, and the cause of the outbreak is still under investigation.
The Command expressed its gratitude for the efforts of the Ghana National Fire Service and all officers who assisted in containing the situation and ensuring safety at the scene.
