The protest, led by the youth, was organized in response to the persistent challenges confronting the Municipality including unstable electricity supply, the abandonment of the 60-bed Euroget Salaga District Hospital project, poor road conditions, and water scarcity.
The event culminated in the presentation of a petition to the East Gonja Municipal Assembly. The Municipal Coordinating Director, on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and the Member of Parliament (MP), received the petition from the youth. He noted that he had earlier spoken with the MP, who expressed her solidarity with the demonstrators and reaffirmed her commitment to work collaboratively with the government and relevant stakeholders to address the pressing issues facing the Municipality.
The demonstration concluded peacefully, with participants dispersing in good spirits to take some well-deserved rest after the day’s rain and sunshine.
