Alexander Otoo Buah Empowers Manso Brofoyedru BECE Graduates with  Generous Support

Renowned Ghanaian philanthropist Alexander Otoo Buah has reaffirmed his commitment to education and youth empowerment by fulfilling a pledge to support all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in Manso Brofoyedru. During a vibrant ceremony in the community today, he handed out GH¢2,000 in cash and a mattress to each of the 30 successful BECE graduates, aiding their transition to Senior High School. This effort aligns with his broader goal to curb school dropouts and enhance education in rural areas.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Otoo Buah reflected on his earlier promise to stand by the students post-exams. “I told all BECE candidates here that I’d support them as they move to senior high school, and today I’m keeping that word,” he said. “I want to ensure no child in Manso Brofoyedru is left behind due to poverty or lack of resources.” He underscored that investing in education is key to breaking the poverty cycle and strengthening the community’s future.

Mr. Otoo Buah has earned widespread respect for his educational initiatives, including a donation of 15,000 exercise books to schools in the Abodom-Brofoyedru Electoral Area earlier this year. He also plans to support youth interested in vocational skills like tailoring, fashion design, hairdressing, and cake making, stating, “Not everyone thrives academically, but everyone deserves a chance to learn a trade and live well.”

Hon. Mark Asamoah, the Assembly Member for the area, commended Mr. Otoo Buah’s generosity, noting its positive impact on students and parents. Grateful parents expressed relief at the financial support, while the enthusiastic students pledged to work hard in return. Mr. Otoo Buah reiterated his commitment to empowering both academic and vocational learners, solidifying his role as a cornerstone of the community’s development.
