Assembly Member Dominic Bonsu Fulfils Campaign Promise with GH¢268,000 Support for Traders

Assembly Member for Takorase and Afraso Electoral Area in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, has disbursed GH¢268,000 in cash support to 268 market women to boost their businesses.

The gesture, made on Thursday, October 2, 2025, saw each beneficiary receive GH¢1,000 as part of the Assembly Member’s commitment to empowering traders and fulfilling a campaign promise he made during the electoral period.

Hon. Bonsu urged the traders to invest the funds wisely in their businesses rather than diverting them to non-productive uses such as funerals or personal expenses.

“GH¢1,000 may not be much, but it can help with petty trading and support your livelihood. This money is not for consumption it is an investment into your future,” he advised.

The Assembly Member emphasized that the initiative was not a loan and encouraged the women to ensure the support yields positive results for their families and the local economy.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely support to strengthen their businesses in the face of economic challenges.
