Philanthropist Kwaku Abonee Donates GH₵1M Incubator to Save Newborn Lives at St. Martin’s Hospital

In a landmark act of generosity, businessman and philanthropist Mr. Kwaku Abonee, popularly known as “Osama,” has donated a cutting-edge incubator worth one million Ghana cedis to St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital in Agroyesum. This life-saving equipment aims to bolster neonatal care, addressing the urgent need to support premature and critically ill newborns in the district.

 

The hospital’s management had appealed to Mr. Abonee, highlighting the critical gap in resources for neonatal care. Prior to this donation, the absence of an incubator had significantly hindered the hospital’s ability to provide specialized care for vulnerable infants.

Sister Mary Assumpta Taabazuing, Nurse Manager of St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the hospital. “We deeply appreciate this timely and transformative donation. This incubator will significantly enhance our ability to care for critically ill and premature newborns,” she said.

 

This pivotal donation is set to dramatically improve the hospital’s capacity to handle neonatal emergencies, providing newborns in the district with a better chance of survival.
