Samuel Adjei, a parliamentary candidate for the Amansie West Constituency, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for neglecting the district and failing to deliver on developmental projects. Adjei, speaking at a gathering in Pakyi no1 and no2, stated that despite the NPP ruling the district for the past two decades, the area still lacks basic infrastructure and amenities.
Adjei highlighted the disparity in development, pointing out that neighboring towns have had major roads tiled while Pakyi no1 and no2 have been left behind. He accused the NPP of taking the Manso Nkwanta District for granted, noting that the party only focuses on carrying out cosmetic projects such as gutter construction before elections.
“If the NPP can asphalt some of the Manso Nkwanta roads in a short period of time, I will resign as PC for this constituency,” Adjei declared, challenging the ruling party to prove their commitment to development.
Alhaji Musah Osman, Vice Chairman of the Ashanti regional finance committee, echoed Adjei’s sentiments, accusing the NPP of deceiving the constituency with superficial projects. He called for a house-to-house campaign to educate voters on the need for change and urged supporters to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidates to address the district’s neglected roads.
Nana Akwasi, the regional chairman, acknowledged the challenges faced by the NPP in the upcoming elections and urged party members to remain vigilant at polling stations to prevent ballot paper theft. He stated that the NPP has accepted defeat and called on supporters to rally behind the NDC candidates for a change in leadership.
The constituency chairman thanked attendees for their support and urged them to vote for the NDC candidates in the upcoming elections. He emphasized the need for the constituency to send a strong message to the NPP that they will no longer tolerate being taken for granted.
