In a powerful display of unity and solidarity, the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in the Ashanti region came together to emphasize the importance of peace as the country approaches the upcoming elections. Led by the Director for the National Service Authority in the region, Prince Kankam Boadu, the group recognized that without peace, development cannot thrive.
Addressing the gathering, Boadu highlighted the negative impact of greedy politicians who manipulate the youth for their own agendas. He urged the educated youth to resist being influenced by divisive tactics and instead focus on promoting peace within their communities. “Whether we belong to the NPP or NDC, we all need peace,” Boadu emphasized.
Tweneboah Koduah, the Corporate Affairs Director for the National Service Authority, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of peace and justice in a society. “We cannot afford to become immigrants or refugees in other countries due to lack of peace. We must all stand together as one,” Koduah stated.
Yaa Tweneboah Opoku Bandoh, the first female president of NASPA in the Ashanti region, reiterated the purpose of their efforts, emphasizing that peace is essential for national service personnel to fulfill their duties effectively. She also encouraged her colleagues to actively participate in the upcoming elections and not to be indifferent to the outcome.
“We stand for peace for our nation. This year’s election should be free of violence and conflict. We stand united in promoting peace,” Bandoh proclaimed.
The group, consisting of passionate and dedicated young professionals, embarked on a peaceful procession through the streets of Kumasi to raise awareness about the importance of peace and unity in the region. Their message was clear: violence is not the solution, and peace is the key to progress and prosperity.
As they marched through the city, the national service personnel engaged with the community, spreading their message of peace and advocating for a peaceful electoral process. Through their actions and words, they demonstrated their commitment to building a peaceful and united nation.
The event was a powerful reminder of the potential and influence of the youth in shaping the future of the country. By uniting for a common cause and standing together for peace, the national service personnel in the Ashanti region set an inspiring example for others to follow.
With their unwavering dedication to promoting peace and advocating for a violence-free election, the national service personnel in the Ashanti region have shown that they are not just participants in the electoral process, but agents of positive change.
