Mawuena Dumor Trebarh is laid to rest

On June 29, 2024, Mrs. Mawuena Adzo Dumor Trebarh goes home. Her burial service took place at the Holy Spirit Cathedral at Adabraka, Accra. The service had its commencement at 7 in the morning of that Saturday. The attire was black.

The immediate past CEO of GIPC(Ghana Investment Promotion Centre) left indelible marks on both sectors of Ghana’s economy; both the public and private sectors.

The first female to serve in a leadership postion as the CEO of GIPC, her tenure spanned from 2013-2017. She was also was the first female Board Chair of Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Ghana.

Again, she held the position of the first female underground exploration geologist in the Ashanti Region.

She worked with Inspire Africa Consult, Scancom(MTN), Newmont Ghana Limited and Ashanti Goldfieds.

She played the roles of an investor, a business executive and a geologist.

Mawuena Dumor died at the age of 52, on the 10th of April, 2024, just two days before her next birthday.

She won awards in her lifetime; the Millennium Leadership Forum Award for championing excellence in trade investment and agro-processing and the National Youth Role Model Award for being a role model and youth leader inclusive.

Among her relatives are notable Ghanaians such as Philip Gbeho, Victor James Gheho,  Professor Ernest Dumor and Komla Afeke Dumor.

The thanksgiving service is also scheduled to take place at 9:30am at the Holy Spirit Cathedral. The attire for the service will be black and white.

Her passing away causes her to be survived by her husband and daughter; Mr. Divine Trebarh and Katherine Joy Trebarh respectively. May she rest in peace.
