Manso Tontokrom RC Primary Park became a center of political activity on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held a major rally to galvanize support for the upcoming elections. Addressing the crowd, Frank Owusu, a former TESCON president of the University of Ghana, called on constituents in the Manso Adubia Constituency to vote for the NPP to sustain ongoing developmental projects and “break the 8.”

Owusu praised the NPP government for its efforts in infrastructure and security, highlighting the need to retain the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo. He addressed criticisms about the deplorable state of some roads, particularly the Anwiankwanta-Tontokrom stretch. According to him, these roads traverse three different constituencies—Bekwai Municipal, Amansie West, and Amansie South—which Hon. MP Ogunde is doing his best for the South to get good roads.

He argued that if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had prioritized these roads during their tenure, the region would not still face dust and potholes. Owusu emphasized that Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo is working tirelessly to improve the road network, urging constituents to continue supporting him and the NPP for greater developmental gains.

The former TESCON president also commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s policies, particularly the implementation of mobile money interoperability, which he said has curbed armed robbery incidents in Tontokrom. He noted that gold buyers, who were previously frequent targets of robberies, now feel safer conducting their business.

Owusu further criticized the NDC’s track record, claiming that the hospital they built in Manso Tontokrom was poorly executed, with leaking roofs. He credited the NPP government for rehabilitating the facility with proper roofing and for constructing a new storey building in the town, further enhancing the area’s infrastructure.

“Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo and the NPP government are delivering real results for the people of Manso Adubia constituency. Let us retain them to continue these developmental projects,” Owusu urged the crowd.

The rally underscored the NPP’s commitment to mobilizing grassroots support as the 2024 general elections approach.
