Concerned Youth Demand Immediate Repairs on Kumasi-Accra Highway Following Deadly Crash

The Coalition of Concerned Youth has called on the government to urgently fix the Kumasi-Accra highway following a recent deadly accident that claimed several lives. In a press release, the group expressed condolences to the affected families and voiced outrage over the continuous loss of life due to the poor state of the road.

Executive Director of the coalition, Mr. Richard Mensah, described the situation as alarming, citing data that links a high number of accidents along the route to its deplorable condition. “This road has become a death trap. We’ve lost too many breadwinners, and too many children have been orphaned,” he stated.

The group has issued a two-month ultimatum to government authorities to begin repair works on the highway. Should there be no sign of progress within the stipulated time, the youth say they will take action by blocking the road in protest.

They are urging swift intervention to prevent further tragedies and are calling for the road’s maintenance to be contracted without delay.
