ATWIMA MPONUA DCE CUTS SOD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THREE PROJECTS
The Atwima Mponua District Assembly has officially cut sod for the construction of a three Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHP) compound at Mpasatia, Kwame Kwea, and Badabour in the Atwima Mponua District.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place during a comprehensive tour of various communities where the DCE handed over construction sites to contractors to commence work on the ambitious infrastructure projects, funded by the district Assembly’s common fund. The event witnessed significant attendance from key stakeholders, including the traditional authorities, assembly members, district staff, and contractors.
The ceremony marked a significant step in the Assembly’s effort to improve administrative infrastructure,healthcare infrastructur and enhance sanitation facilities within educational institutions in the district. The engagement was an opportunity to address emerging challenges confronting communities as well as introduce government interventions to community members.
At Badabour was an eleven-year-old abandoned community-based health planning and service( CHPS )compound where the District Chief Executive, Hon.Ibrahim Issahak pledge to complete it for operationalization. At Mpasatia the DCE cut sod for the construction of a CHPS compound as well as Kwame Kwea
Addressing stakeholders at the ceremony, the District Chief Executive, Ibrahim Issaka, stated that the project forms part of the National Democratic Congress NDC Government’s broader Development Agenda aimed at improving infrastructure and strengthening public service delivery at the local level. He explained that the initiative reflects the assembly’s commitment to supporting healthcare, education, and creating an enabling environment for effective administration and human capital development.Hon.Issaka emphasized that improving healthcare, water, toilet facilities, electricity, and basic infrastructure in schools remains a priority, as its diretcly impacts teaching, learning, and the overall well-being of students, staff, and community members.
He assured Residents, Chiefs, Healthcare Workers and school authorities of the Assembly’s resolve to continue initiating projects that promote development and improve living and working conditions across the district.
The contractor for the project assured stakeholders of his commitment to delivering quality work in accordance with the project specifications. He stated that the construction would be completed within the stipulated time frame in the contract, barring any unforeseen challenges. He also pledged to adhere strictly to safety and quality standards throughout the execution of the project.
Nana Appiah Agyei Dankwa, Krontihene Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District expressed profound gratitude to the DCE and government for the intervention. He noted that construction CHPS Compound, toilet facility, providing electricity, and schools would significantly improve sanitation, reduce health risks, and create a cleaner and more conducive learning environment for the community members and students.
Assembly Member for Mpasatia Ahenbronum, Karim Salifu extended appreciation to the DCE and the government for the effort of bringing development to the district. He therefore appeals to the government to expand the Building of the CHPS compound into Big health Centers since Antwi Mponua have large population.
