A/R YEA and NAP boost Skils training-Over 1,820 masters and apprentices receive equipment

 

The government is committed to creating more jobs for the youth and also supporting them with the necessary tools to aid them in their field of work, whether vocational, or SMS.

 

With this, the Youth Employment Authority (NYA ) under the National Apprenticeship program has made significant strides by strengthening vocational and technical skills development in the Ashanti Region, and also rolled out essential working equipment alongside a monthly allowance to strengthen the training of apprenticeship for over 1,80 masters and apprentices across the Region.

 

The equipment which includes Hair dryers, industrial sewing machines, netting machines, towels, and other trade tools, is basically to enhance practical training in the area of vocational, electrical wiring, toiling, hairdressing, Nails and makeup, and glazing work.

The program is aimed at empowering the livelihood of youth on vocational and technical training as well as improving the quality of hands-on learning while enabling beneficiaries to acquire employable skills that can translate into sustainable livelihoods.

 

The distribution event held at Ejisu, in the Ashanti Region brouhght together government officials, traditional leaders, community members, party folks, and beneficiaries, exhibiting government commitment towards empowering youth through vocational training and other skills acquisition.

 

Aside from the tools received, both apprentices and their masters will benefit from monthly allowances, which are to support and motivate the effective skills transfer, improve productivity, and ease the financial burden associated with apprenticeship training.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon.Frank Amoakohene, touched on the need as a country to place national interest above partisan politics in the implementation of social intervention programmes. According to him skills training initiatives play a critical role in preventing youth involvement in social vices by providing them with meaningful economic opportunities and a sense of purpose.

 

Dr.Amoakohene advised beneficiaries to take advantage lavised on them by the government, and cautioned them to exhibit the act of commitment, discipline, and self-dedication to their selected trades which will transform their lives in the future.

Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Employment Authority, Alhaji Inusa Mahama, indicated that, the initiatives form part of President John Dramani Mahama’s wide vision of restoring and creating an enabling environment that equips youth in the country with practical and marketable skills.

 

The National Apprenticeship programme, he said is designed not only to provide training opportunities but to ensure that beneficiaries are adequately resourced financially to practice their trade without encountering any challenges.

 

He admonishes all youth to embrace this iniatives and get themselves enrolled for the second phase, since vocational and technical training remains a critical pathway to reducing youth unemployment and fostering self-reliance among young

people.

” My words to the beneficiaries is that, the president of the republic of Ghana is not just given us tools but a foundation of a future that in few months after when visiting for monitoring at least we should see businessess employing other people, am encouraging all who have applied to relax for the second face which is to be enrolled in febuary and March’.National Apprenticeship Programme national coordination, Nicodermos Dery lamented.

 

On his part, the chief of Donaso, Nana Akwesi Agyekum, commended the government and Youth Employment Authority, the national Apprenticeship programme for this laudable initiative. He therefore urged apprentices and their masters to make effective use of the equipment, indicating that skills training remains one of the surest pathways to job creation, economic stability, and self-employment.
