Sanitation is a shared responsibility but not an event_ DCE Amansie West

 

The District Chief Executive Officer for Amansie West, Prince Manu Morris, has emphasized the need for citizens to make cleanliness a priority, as it’s a shared responsibility for all persons, not an event.

 

According to him, the president of the Republic of Ghana has mandated all MMDCEs to ensure that issues related to sanitation become a priority in every district.

Hon. Manu Moris assures that his outfit will work assiduously to ensure that the sanitation menace becomes a topmost priority and cleaning, especially in his district, is resolved to prevent any form of non-communicable disease in the district.

 

He therefore encouraged residents to always keep their homes clean, especially with respect to food vendors around gutters to make sure the gutters are well cleaned to prevent any diseases.

 

The National Sanitation Day, which is observed nationwide on the first Saturday of every month, where Ghanaians come together for communal labor work, cleaning the streets, drains, and ensuring their communities are free from filth.

 

The clean-up exercise held at Antoakrom brought together the DCE, Antoakromhene, Assemblyman, Security personnel, and some other personalities to keep the community clean.

The activities that brought together residents, community leaders, and volunteers within the district formed part of the ongoing effort to promote environmental hygiene and civic responsibility.

 

On his part, the Chief of Antoakrom, Nana Okyere Ampem, commended DCE and his team for this tremendous exercise since it is the biggest of all clean-up exercises held in Antoakrom.

 

His office, he said, will always support these activities in diverse ways to ensure sanitation becomes a thing of the past in Antoakrom and its environs.

Assemblyman for Antoakrom, Micheal Amankwah, expresses appreciation to the DCE for these massive clean-up exercises.

 

According to him, Antoakrom has so far had four clean-up exercises, whereby the fourth one surpasses all and promises to extend to other communities within the Amansie West district.
