Ghana Sends 61 Health Workers to Grenada Under Labour Export Programme
The Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment has dispatched 61 health workers to Grenada as part of the government’s Labour Export Programme.
The workers were sent off during a brief ceremony at Terminal 3 of the Accra International Airport, which was attended by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah.
Addressing the workers at the ceremony, the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Emmanuel Agyekum, urged them to maintain good conduct and demonstrate professionalism throughout their stay in Grenada.
He stressed that their behaviour would play an important role in determining the success of future labour agreements, noting that several other countries had expressed interest in recruiting workers from Ghana.
Mr. Agyekum said Ghanaian workers previously deployed to Barbados and other countries had distinguished themselves through their performance. He therefore encouraged the new group to uphold the same standards and honour the terms of their two-year employment contracts.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, also urged the health workers to represent Ghana positively in their host country and conduct themselves in ways that would bring pride to the nation.
He called on them to raise the flag of Ghana high through their actions and performance as they begin their professional assignments abroad.
