I’m committed to the development of my people – Ahafo-ano South East DCE

In a decisive show of support, Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo-ano South East, securing 31out of 31 votes cast by assembly members – representing a resounding 100% endorsement.

The confirmation, which took place in the district capital, marks the beginning of a new leadership era for one of the most strategically positioned but underserved districts in the Ashanti Region. Ibrahim Yamba takes office with a pledge to lead with integrity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the development of the district.

In his first official remarks following his confirmation, Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka expressed profound gratitude to the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him, as well as to the assembly members and the people of Ahafo-ano South East for their overwhelming support.

“This is not just a personal achievement, but a call to serve. I am deeply humbled by this endorsement and fully aware of the responsibility that lies ahead,” Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka stated.

He acknowledged the developmental challenges confronting the district, including poor infrastructure, limited access to social services, and unemployment. However, he remained optimistic, citing numerous opportunities to transform the area through effective leadership, collaboration, and a shared vision for progress.

Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka passionately appealed for unity among all stakeholders, stressing that development can only be achieved through inclusive and collective effort.

“We must set aside political, ethnic, and personal differences. Our common goal must be the development of Ahafo-ano South East. I call on all political leaders, civil servants, traditional authorities, religious bodies, youth groups, and residents to come on board. This is our collective project,” he said.

He also pledged to uphold transparency and accountability in his administration, promising to prioritize the welfare of the people and ensure that every initiative undertaken reflects the genuine needs and aspirations of the district’s residents.

The Member of Parliament for Ahafo-ano South East, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed , who was present at the ceremony, congratulated Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka on his confirmation and called for close collaboration between the District Assembly and her office. He emphasized that unity and cooperation are essential to advancing the district’s development agenda.

“Leadership is not about working in isolation. It is about inclusion and partnership. I look forward to working closely with the new DCE to bring tangible development to our people,” he stated.

The confirmation of Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka has been widely welcomed by various segments of the community, many of whom believe his appointment presents a fresh opportunity to tackle long-standing issues in the district and steer it toward a more prosperous future.
