Ghana Army Recruitment Scam: Military officer Declared Wanted over GH¢500,000 Deal

A Military officer has been declared wanted by the Ghana Police over GH¢500,000 recruitment scam.

The officer, Stella Owusu, is alleged to have collected GH¢7,000 from about 90 persons at Bonwire and Konongo in the Ashanti Region under the pretext of recruiting them in the Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana Immigration Service but failed.

The leader of the victims, Obeng Isaac in the case is the resident at Bonwire, who was introduced to the suspect in 2023.

Though, The Ghana Armed Forces has clarified that individuals posing as middlemen, intermediaries, or agents demanding payment to assist candidates should be reported to the nearest Military Installation or Police Station. Similarly, applicants who choose to pay these purported agents for assistance are equally guilty of participating in fraudulent activities.”

Speaking to Onua News in an interview, the leader of the group, Obeng Isaac said, The process started in 2023 when the said officer Stella Owusu came to them with a promised to recruit them into the Military and Immigration Service but failed.

“We are about 90 and each person were charged ¢7,000 of which we agreed to pay. He said;

 

Some affected victims, appealed to the Ghana police service and the Military service to help get the suspect into the law.
