Assemblyman Sounds Alarm Over Water Shortages, Security Threats in Mansoman

Infrastructure Crisis Hits Atwere Community
Honorable Amponsah Darko, Assemblyman for Manso Atwere Electoral Area, has revealed multiple development challenges plaguing his constituency, including severe water shortages and inadequate teacher housing at Manso Atwere Senior High School.

My predecessors didn’t seems to put much effort to our community center but “now an ultra modern one is in progress that stakeholders should come to our aid and support us”

The outspoken representative highlighted the abandoned Atwere Community Center, which housed the SHS before its relocation. “This vital facility – containing seven shops, a video center, hospital, eight rooms and an events platform – has been left to rot,” Darko stated. “Restoring it would boost local commerce and community life.”

Security Emergency in Mining Zone
Darko issued an urgent appeal to the Inspector General of Police:
– Immediate deployment of better-equipped officers
– Additional personnel to combat armed robberies targeting traders
– Special focus on Amansie West/South’s mining areas

“The rising crime wave has created paralyzing fear among residents and business owners,” he warned, noting how mining activities have driven up housing costs beyond civil servants’ reach.

Call for Unity Behind DCE Nominee
The Assemblyman rallied colleagues to unanimously confirm Hon. Manu Prince Morris as DCE, stressing: “We cannot afford further delays on development projects. Our people have waited too long for solutions.”

Darko emphasized his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, vowing to keep pushing for the community center’s rehabilitation despite previous administrations’ neglect.
