We want Kumasi to be clean and tidy said Kumasi Mayor

The chief executive for Kumasi Metropolis Hon. Samuel Pine has warned residents in the Kumasi Municipality to comply with the bye- laws which governs sanitation or face the full rigours of the law.

According to him fifteen sanitation offenders were recently prosecuted by Kumasi court behind the Prempeh assembly hall for sanitation offense.

He said seventy percent (70%) are used to manage filth in Kumasi which eat deep into the coffers of the assembly.

Charlotte Akwaa Agyei programs manager and doubling as the sanitation representative of the sanitation minister Hon. Freda Prempeh added that about 1200 tones of filth is made daily in the Kumasi Metropolis and could be used for a multi purpose compose process which will help restore Kumasi back to its glory Garden city.

This were disclosed at a launch of eight compactors trucks and thousands of dustbins which will be placed at vantage point in Kumasi to keep it clean and tidy.
