Tema Newtown Gets Modern Fish Processing Facility
The Tema Metropolitan Assembly has begun construction of a modern fish processing facility at Tema Newtown as part of efforts to improve hygiene and sanitation at the fishing site.
The facility will comprise 150 fish-smoking kilns, 30 fish-drying slabs and washroom facilities.
The project is expected to provide fish processors with improved working conditions while addressing sanitation concerns associated with fish processing in the area.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by November 2026.
The facility is expected to contribute to a cleaner and more hygienic environment for fish processing activities at Tema Newtown.
