President Mahama Launches ‘One Million Coders’ Program to Power Ghana’s Digital Future

H.E. President John Dramani Mahama today officially launched the One Million Coders Program at the auditorium of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE). This transformative initiative is designed to equip Ghanaian youth with vital digital skills in areas such as coding, network support, data protection, data science, cybersecurity, and more.

Delivering a keynote address, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George emphasized that the program is a fulfillment of President Mahama’s vision to position Ghana as Africa’s leading digital talent hub. He highlighted the initiative’s potential to drive job creation and boost youth employment in the technology sector.

As part of the launch, H.E. President Mahama interacted with participants of Cohort 1, whose training sessions are currently underway with 560 learners across four locations: Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani, and Bolgatanga.
