The Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah has extended a generous support of GHS 20,000 to the Salaga T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School to aid their preparation and participation in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), currently taking place in Accra.

The cheque was presented on behalf of the MP by the Salaga-South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Chairman Abotsi, together with Ing. Abdul Nasser Adam.

Speaking during the presentation, Chairman Abotsi explained that the MP’s donation was to assist the school in meeting some of its logistical and preparatory needs for the competition. He emphasized that Hon. Hajia Zuwera remains deeply committed to promoting educational excellence and youth development across the constituency.

Ing. Abdul Nasser Adam, on his part, commended the school for their impressive achievement in qualifying for the national stage of the NSMQ. He noted that the MP is passionate about investing in science, mathematics, and ICT education through her partnerships with government agencies and development organizations. He also revealed that Hon. Hajia Zuwera plans to institute regular inter-school quiz competitions between the two Senior High Schools in the constituency to foster academic competition and excellence.

Receiving the cheque, the headmaster of the school, Mr. Issahaku A. Jahanfo, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MP for her swift and thoughtful response to the school’s appeal. He praised her for her dedication to improving the standard of education in the area. Mr. Jahanfo disclosed that the school’s total expenditure for the competition was GHS 25,000, noting that with the MP’s GHS 20,000 support, she had effectively covered 80% of their budget.

He described the gesture as a huge relief for the school and a motivation for both teachers and students to strive for excellence in representing the Salaga-South constituency and the Savannah Region on the national stage.
