Ghana Records 13 New Mpox Cases, Total Reaches 670 as of October 1, 2025

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported 13 new confirmed cases of mpox, pushing the national total to 670 as of October 1, 2025. According to the latest update, no new deaths were recorded, maintaining the total at three, while one patient remains on admission. The GHS emphasized that mpox spreads primarily through close contact with an infected person, urging the public to stay vigilant.

The health agency highlighted symptoms to watch for, including fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and tiredness. “If you notice any of these signs, visit the nearest health facility immediately,” the GHS advised, stressing the importance of good hygiene to protect oneself and others. The update comes amid ongoing efforts to manage the spread of the viral disease across the country.

The GHS continues to monitor the situation and encourages reporting of symptoms to curb further transmission. For more information, the public can visit www.ghs.gov.gh or follow the service’s official social media handles, including @GHSofficial on Twitter and Instagram.
