Essikado-Ketan MP Launches Free School Bus Service for Day Students

The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Hon. Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah, has announced the introduction of a Free School Bus Service for all day students in her constituency. The initiative aims to enhance students’ mobility to and from school, thereby promoting a smoother and more efficient learning experience.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Radio Gold, Dr. Ayensu Danquah disclosed that the pilot phase of the program will commence on Monday. She explained that there are about six senior high schools (SHSs) in her constituency, and currently, two buses have been allocated to transport day students to their respective campuses.

According to her, each bus will serve three schools, picking up students from designated bus stops and dropping them off at their schools. The pilot phase will help assess the feasibility of transporting all day students efficiently across the six SHSs in the constituency.

Dr. Ayensu Danquah emphasized that the project forms part of her broader agenda to promote access to quality education in Ghana. She also revealed plans to distribute notebooks to about 2,000 students who recently completed Junior High School, as well as to provide examination materials to help improve academic performance. “This initiative is designed to support students and enhance their examination outcomes,” she stated.
