The Safo family and Kristo Asafo Church have announced the peaceful passing of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, a revered Ghanaian pastor, inventor, philanthropist, and industrialist, on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

In a moving statement, the family described him as a “true genius, a beacon of hope, and a father to the fatherless,” celebrated for his transformative contributions to Ghana’s technological, agricultural, and spiritual spheres. Signed by his daughter, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, the statement noted that funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course and requested privacy for the family during this period of mourning.

Apostle Safo, the founder of Kantanka Automobile, revolutionized Ghana’s industrial landscape by producing locally manufactured vehicles designed for African terrains, promoting self-reliance and reducing reliance on imports.
