BONWIRE KENTE FESTIVAL 2024: Ashanti Kingdom Prepares for Cultural Extravaganza

Kumasi, Ashanti Region – The Bonwire Kente Festival Committee has announced the upcoming Bonwire Kente Festival 2024, slated for October 14-20, 2024.

The festival, themed “Sustaining the Kente Heritage Through Education,” aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Ashanti people.

The host Nana Bobie Ansah II, Bonwirehene, under the auspices of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.

And some Chiefs and Queenmothers like, Nana Afrane Okese IV, Ejisuhene, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, Ejisuhemaa, and Nana Nyarko Frimpomaah II, Bonwirehemaa, are all representing.

The festival will take place at the Bonwire SHS Park from 10 am to 5 pm daily, with the Grand Durbar scheduled for Saturday, October 19, from 11 am to 4 pm.

A special 50% discount on all Kente cloth purchases will be offered on Grand Durbar day.

According to the festival committee, all activities are free and open to the public.
