The Amansie South District in the Ashanti Region came together to celebrate the 40th edition of the National Farmers Day at Manso Adubea, the district capital. The event was filled with excitement as farmers were recognized and awarded for their hard work and dedication to the agricultural sector.
Handing over to the current best Farmer
The highlights of the ceremony was the announcement of Mr. Edward Kwabena Asare from Manso Agroyesum as the overall District Best Farmer. He was awarded a tricycle and other farm equipment as his prize, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to agriculture in the district. Kwabena Apam and Isaac Osei were also recognized as the 1st and 2nd runners up, respectively, along with several other farmers who received prizes for their achievements.

The event was opened by a representative for the Agric Director, Esther Afoakwa, who commended the farmers for their important role in feeding the masses every day. She emphasized the significance of celebrating and awarding the farmers for their hard work and dedication to the farming sector.

Addressing the attendees, Mr. Clement Opoku Gyamfi, the District Chief Executive (DCE), expressed the government’s commitment to supporting farmers by providing them with seedlings and other resources. He urged the farmers to continue their good work and to vote to maintain the incumbent government, so that the progress in supporting agriculture can continue.
Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo, Member of Parliament and Parliamentary candidate, also praised the farmers for their efforts in agricultural production. He highlighted the importance of the farming sector in the district and encouraged the farmers to work hard to ensure a sustainable food supply for the entire community.
