Adjamasu Queen Mother Appeals to President Mahama for Key Infrastructure to Boost Community Development
Nana Yaa Pomaah I, the Adjamasu Adonteng Nkosuo Hemaa in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has made a passionate appeal to the current President of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, to prioritize development in the Adjamasu community by addressing urgent infrastructure needs.
During a community football event organized by traditional leaders to promote unity and development, Nana Yaa Pomaah I outlined the pressing need for a police station, a modern market, a public toilet facility, and an Astroturf pitch. She emphasized that these projects are crucial for enhancing safety, promoting economic growth, improving sanitation, and fostering youth engagement through sports.
“We are calling on President Mahama and his government to consider Adjamasu in the national development agenda. These facilities will transform our community and improve the lives of our people,” she stated.
The event served not only as a sports gathering but also as a platform for community dialogue and a united call for government support.
Hon. Owusu Prince Snr, Assembly Member for the Adjamasu Electoral Area, also used the opportunity to urge the President to expedite the release of the Ashanti Regional list of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs). He noted that the delay is hindering the ability of Assembly Members to effectively channel the needs of their communities to the appropriate authorities.
“Our work at the local level is being affected. We need our DCEs in place to facilitate timely responses to the challenges in our electoral areas,” Hon. Prince stressed.
The traditional leaders present echoed the Queen Mother’s call and expressed hope that the government would take swift action. They underscored the importance of these infrastructure projects for the overall development of Adjamasu and the wellbeing of its people.
The football event concluded with strong community support for the Queen Mother’s initiative and a collective resolve to work hand-in-hand with government agencies to realize these developmental goals.
