ADANSI ASOKWA MP BEGINS PILOT DISTRIBUTION OF 10,000 NKOKO NKITINKITI

 

As part of the government’s effort to create more jobs in the agriculture sector and not just job-creation intervention but a policy to curb the heavy importation of frozen chicken in the country, the Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, Hon. Godwin Animli Dogbadzi-Dorani has today launched and began the piloting of the “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” project in Adansi Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region.

 

The launch of the project in Adansi Asokwa, according to the Member of Parliament, exhibits President John Dramani’s commitment to practical governance and people _centered polices and also social intervention programmes.

Hon. Animli Dogbadzi-Dorani said the pilot distribution, which targeted the first batch of registered beneficiaries, signifies the beginning of what party leaders describe as a revolution in grassroots poultry farming and household economics empowerment.

 

It is designed to bring poultry production directly to the doorsteps of every Ghanaian, in homes, in schools, and communities across the country. Beneficiaries will receive birds, feed, and other supplies to start their poultry businesses, transforming subsistence into self-sustaining livelihoods, he added, “.

 

The Member of Parliament in conjunction with the District Chief Executive for Adansi Asokwa, Hon. Albert Dakurah distributed over 100,000 Nkoko Nkitinkiti to qualified beneficiaries.

Mr. Godwin Animli disclosed in an interview that today’s event is a reflection of President Mahama’s visions and leadership of putting resources directly into the hands of the people rather than empty rhetoric.

 

The MP admonished all to support the good initiatives rolled out by the president of the republic of Ghana since this is a national policy with long – term benefits. He added that the initiative is non-partisan and must, therefore, endeavour to defend and support it for the success of it. It is also an intervention to empower Ghanaians economically .

 

In terms of monitoring, the District Chief Executive Hon. Albert Dakurah assured beneficiaries that the district assembly would speed up effort to monitor the project to ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness .

 

He indicated that the pilot phase is a clear indication that the NDC is committed to delivering on its promises, particularly those targeting on agriculture , youth employment , women empowerment, Persons living with Disabilities and rural development.

Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and the NDC leadership assuring to use the opportunity to improve their economic conditions and contribute to local poultry production.
