Highlife legend Kwasey Pee, clarified his statement by pointing out that celebrities who publicly support the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is seen as an Akan party, continue to thrive in the entertainment industry, while those who align themselves with the opposition National Democratic Party (NDC) often face discrimination and stereotyping.

Kwasey Pee made these controversial remarks during an interview with him and Ohemaa Woyeje on Angel FM drive time.He also disclosed how individuals from the Ashanti tribe exhibit a sense of superiority and sometimes make unsound remarks about other ethnic groups, particularly the Ga’s and Ewes.

The musician emphasized that endorsing the NPP does not have negative meaning because, in the past, it was Ashanti’s who always organized entertainment events, and not supporting the party could result in being excluded from these shows.He further commented that if the Ashanti’s were of a different race, their behavior towards other tribes would be considered racist.

He again condemned the negative language used by Ashanti’s against the Ga’s and Ewes, stating that it reflects poorly on their character.
