Access to quality healthcare and surgical services is a fundamental right, yet the Afigya Kwabre North District has remained one of the most underserved areas regarding medical infrastructure for years.

In a direct appeal to the Ministry of Health and the central government, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Emmanuel Jackson Agumah, has called for urgent intervention to provide modern healthcare facilities and adequate professional staff, including surgeons, to the district.

According to the DCE, the current lack of facilities forces residents to travel long distances to access basic and emergency medical care. He noted that addressing this gap is critical to salvaging the health outcomes of the people and reducing the burden of travel on the vulnerable.

Speaking during an interview at the district’s first-ever 2026 Town Hall Meeting Held at the Methodist church in Ahenkro in the Afigya Kwabre North District, Hon. Jackson Agumah emphasized his administration’s commitment to accountability. The meeting served as a platform to brief chiefs, assembly members, and opinion leaders on the assembly’s progress and to identify emerging challenges for future development plans.

The DCE highlighted that the government is dedicated to completing all abandoned projects, including educational infrastructure, water systems, and healthcare facilities. Specifically, he referenced the completion of “Agenda 111” hospitals and other “legacy projects” initiated under the vision of the past government.

Hon. Jackson Agumah reiterated that the President Mahama administration remains committed to continuity in governance by finishing projects left behind by previous administrations while simultaneously initiating new developmental programs to improve the lives of the people in Afigya Kwabre North.
